A couple of weeks after our trip to Memphis, Alaina traveled to Birmingham to see her Poppa, who is in the hospital. Five hours is a long time to ride in the car with a two month old!! She loves traveling in the day, but the night is a different story!! I don't think that she is afraid of the dark. I think she just wants to see what is going on! So from Tuscaloosa to Grenada, we had to ride with the light on! That was easier on Aunt Ashley, who had to sit in the back and keep her entertained all the way home. When she would fuss, Aunt Ashley would try all kinds of tricks and one of them was making Alaina hold the pacifier in her mouth until she relaxed and went to sleep. Sometimes this is no easy task. Alaina doesn't always want her pacifier. So, that is how Aunt Ashley became lovingly known as the Paci Nazi!
Also since there was no crib in the hotel room, Alaina had to sleep with me and Daniel. The first night, we did not sleep well. She is used to sleeping by herself so the second night we let her sleep in her car seat alone. We all slept better and were more friendlier the next day!
Hopefully, our travels are over for awhile! But we are glad that we went. Alaina was glad to spend time with her Mimi and Poppa! Now, she is ready for them to come home! I know they are ready to come home too!!
