Annual Checkup Weekend

Last week Alaina went to see Dr. Dennis for her annual checkup.  She screamed and clung to me when the nurse asked her to stand on the big girl scale so she had to put Alaina on the table to weigh her.  And how much had she gained?  One pound!  That is it!  I was so suprised because she eats like a pig!  But she did gain some inches.  She is now 32 1/2 inches tall.

Dr. Dennis said she looked great.   He asked her where her nose, fingers, toes and ears were.  I was so proud when she got them all right!  She survived a vaccine and a finger prick before we went to eat and headed home.  Alaina spent the afternoon resting.  I guess she was saving it for Saturday.

Saturday was a busy day.  Alaina spend most of the day outside.  She helped Poppa by carrying a bucket of nails while he fixed fences.  Then she helped Daddy drive the Backhoe.  After she rested, she helped Daddy plant trees.

I know she and I both ready for warmer weather so we can enjoy more days outside.

Snow Day

On February 9 we received snow again.  This time it was beautiful.  No ice or sleet just pure snow.  I was glad that Alaina was able to enjoy it.  Last time she wanted no part of it.  This time, she enjoyed throwing snowballs and blowing the snow but she didn't want her mittens to get dirty!

Alaina's Second Birthday

On February 5, we celebrated Alaina's Second Birthday Party.  Here are a few of the pictures Aunt Ashley took.

Alaina loved playing with the balloons as we decorated

Enjoying punch before the party

This is one of my all time favorite pics.

Opening the gifts!  Alaina and I have the same expression.

Once again, same expression.

Using her broom from Mimi and Poppa

She loved her tricycle from moma and daddy

She got embarrased when we were singing "Happy Birthday" and she needed Mamaw to hold her hand.

Yummy, Yummy

She was so excited about the rings that came on the cake!

One of her many faces!

Showing off her big eyes!

Working hard on her new laptop!

Having fun with Aunt Angela

Loving her dog
As you can see, Alaina had a blast!  After every left, she took a much needed nap!

I am excited and anxious about the year ahead -- the terrible twos!  Alaina is talking more and becoming her own person.  I know that this will be a year filled with tantrums as she gains her independence but I know it will also be a year filled with fun and adventure.  She will make sure of it!
