Alaina's First Thanksgiving

Alaina's first Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. We got to moma and daddy's before anyone else. She enjoyed playing in the decorations with Poppa.

She also enjoyed playing with Uncle Shea!

For her first Thanksgiving meal consisted of sweet potatoes, dressing, rutabagas and butter beans. All of which she loved!

She also had fun with Uncle Charles.
(I love this picture!)
After a fun filled day, she fell asleep in Aunt Linda Gail's arms.

After her nap, she played with Daddy (who did not want to show his face on camera).
Before we went home, she played with Mary Rhealee.

Hallow Him

On her first Halloween, Alaina was a pink leopard. We celebrated at our church's annual Hallow Him. She didn't mind putting on the costume and thought she was cute when she looked in the mirror. However, when Daniel started putting on her whiskers and nose, she was not too happy.

When we got in the car, I took this picture. Doesn't she look like the Cowardly Lion?
Alaina and Daddy before we got to the activities.

Everyone thought she was adorable and wanted heir picture with her.

After she posed for pictures, Alaina visited with her friend Owen from Sunday School. He was dressed as a cowboy.

Then we went inside and grabbed for ducks!

Poppa gave her a sucker for the first time, which she loved!

She loves looking at herself in the mirror. Here is one of her new funny faces! She loved looking and trying to bite the pumpkin.

Why can't I bite on the pumkin?
After a fun filled afternoon, Alaina put her three fingers in her mouth, an indicator that she is tired and ready to lay down!

Swinging Outside

Before the rain and the cool weather, Daniel dug out a swing for Alaina that had once been our nephews. She spent several hours that day enjoying the outside. Here are a few pictures.

In Loving Memory

On October 5, my Aunt Jessie went home to be her Savior. She was loved dearly by all of her family and we will really miss her. She told me the last day I saw her, to spoil Alaina and let her do whatever she wants. I told her that I couldn't let her do just anything and she laughed. She also said that she didn't have enough time with Alaina. Sadly, I agree.

Here is Alaina in a dress that Uncle Charles brought back from Mexico.

We will love and miss you, Aunt Jessie.

Play Dates

This Thursday Alaina had her first play date with Katie Nan. Her mom and I used to work together in Greenwood. When she first saw Katie Nan, Alaina grinned and got very excited. I am so glad she plays well with others (so far!) Here are some pics.

On Friday, she had another date with Ben. His mom and I were in childbirth classes together He was born a couple of weeks after her. They were so sweet together. He was constantly smiling at her and looking at her. Alaina, however, was more interested in the tv.

Ben loved touching her.
She isn't sure about this!

Mr Mom

This past Sunday, I went to Memphis to visit my aunt in the hospital. While I was away, Daniel had to be Mr. Mom. It was his first time feeding Alaina. He told me when he got home, he changed both of their clothes and then he got everything ready to feed Laina. He put her in the high chair and put a bib on her. He put food on the spoon, and while holding it up to her mouth, he said, “Bite.” She just looked at him. Then she looked left and right and looked back at him. Once again, he said, “bite.” She did the same thing again, looking back and forth. Finally, he said, “bite” and pushed the spoon gently into her mouth. This time she understood that Daddy was feeding her. But she was still wondering where momma was! However, once I got home things changed. She wanted nothing to do with me and as hard as I tried I could not get to smile. All she was interested in was Daddy. Everything he did made her smile. I guess she was mad at me for leaving her!

Oh, soon we will have a tooth! The skin is broken and you can feel a little tooth starting to grow!
